Composition
1 g of ointment contains:

Sodium heparin - 100 IU;
benzocaine - 40 mg;
benzyl nicotinate - 800 mcg.

Pharmacological action
A drug with antithrombotic action for external use.

Indications for use
superficial vein thrombophlebitis (prevention and treatment);
post-injection and post-infusion phlebitis;
external hemorrhoids;
inflammation of postpartum hemorrhoids;
trophic ulcers of the leg;
elephantiasis;
superficial periphlebitis;
lymphangitis;
superficial mastitis;
localized infiltrates and edema;
injuries and bruises (including muscle tissue, tendons, joints), subcutaneous hematoma.
Method of administration and dosage
Externally. The ointment is applied in a thin layer to the affected area (at the rate of 0.5-1 g per area with a diameter of 3-5 cm) and gently rubbed into the skin 2-3 times a day every day until the inflammatory phenomena disappear, on average from 3 to 7 days. The possibility of a longer course of treatment is determined by the doctor.
In case of thrombosis of external hemorrhoids, rectal tampons are used, the ointment is applied to a calico or linen pad, which is placed directly on the thrombosed nodes and fixed. The ointment should be used daily until the symptoms disappear, on average 3-14 days. For the same purpose, you can use a tampon soaked in ointment, which is inserted into the anus.

Special instructions
With prolonged use of Heparin ointment on large areas and simultaneous administration of oral medications that affect the blood coagulation system and / or hematopoiesis, the clotting time and prothrombin time should be monitored. If a long course of treatment is necessary and with large areas of damage in pregnant women and in women over 65 years of age, similar monitoring is recommended. Do not apply to open wounds, in the presence of purulent processes. The use of the ointment is not recommended for deep vein thrombosis. Pregnancy and lactation. The safety of using the drug during pregnancy and lactation has not been established. Heparin does not cross the placental barrier and is not excreted in breast milk. There is no information on the penetration of other components of the drug into breast milk. Heparin ointment is used during pregnancy and lactation only strictly according to indications.
